Just finished first slam - need to adjust PH

Hey all -

I just took my pool over from my pool company - It needed a slam -

After a week - It passed the slam test for finishing.

Now I'm letting Chlorine levels drop down to 7. I just checked pH, and it seems a little high. 8.0. Slam finished two days ago.

FC - 13.5
CC - 0.0
pH - 8.0
Alk - 60
CYA - 53
Cal - 125

Should I mess with pH yet, or should I wait?

Never done it before. Where should I buy the chemicals to adjust it. I tend to shop at walmart, that's where I get my chlorine 10%.

Home depot also readily available to me. I'm in Montgomery, AL.

Wait until your FC is below 10 then check your pH. FC levels over 10 skew the pH results.

63 for CYA needs rounded up to 70 if using the TF-Pro kit.

Thanks. CYA was 53, so i guess rounded up to 60.

Only lower pH to 7.8 if needed. With your TA, the pH should be pretty stable.

I want to start messing with ph if needed.

My TA is 60
CYA 40
FC 8
CC 0
PH 8.0

I've been taking care of this pool about 2 months. I did my first SLAM successfully with the groups help last month. Now it's time to look at ph. It's always been on the high side. 8.0ish.

Where would I buy muriatic acid? I have access to home depot an lowes. I've been buying chlorine at walmart. they deliver. (liquid)

I see so much advice about how to put it in (muriatic acid). Give me a good simple way.

Also, I've heard I should adjust ph slowly.

With your current TA, your pH may stay where it is. Which is great.
