We had hired a pool company to close the pool last year.

I took off the pool cover today, and I noticed that two of my plugs on my return jets had fallen off. The water level is above the pool return jets.

My concern is that the pipes could have cracked/burst over the winter.

How do I check if my pipes have been damaged?

Does anyone have experience with this? I feel like the pool company that closed should be responsible for any damages... but how do I prove that there were damages and that it was the fault of the closing company?

I've called the pool company and sent them pictures- they'll get back to me on Mon/Tues

Thanks in advance for your comments!

That's a good sign if it's had over a month to drain and it hasn't.

Were they rubber expanding plugs? I don't use them for this exact reason. If the ice grabs them and shifts as it melts, it'll pull them out. If you have threaded returns, use These instead.
but how do I prove that there were damages
You can likely make the company do a pressure test on those 2 legs.
and that it was the fault of the closing company?
An honest company will do the right thing. A shady one won't.
