Jandy RS4 turns phantom behavior

Hi

I have a suspicion that my old Spa remote is causing some random things to go on/off with my RS4 controller. The remote is 20yrs old, and has long ago stopped working. It has deteriorated over the past 10 yrs and is faded and decaying. It is also still connected the the outside controller, and may be causing problems.

The SPA mode comes on randomly. The remote wire is connected to pins 1 and 2 of a 10pin panel. See picture it is the blue and white wire at the far right.

Anyone have similar experience? Can I just disconnect the wires from these pins and leave it?

Welcome to TFP.

The green 10 pin connector is for sensors and heater. Those two wires you circled should go to your heater.

The 6 pin black connector to the left is for the spa side remote. You can disconnect it and see if your ghosts go away.

1-2 is low voltage heater.
3-4 is Solar Temp. sensor
5-6 is Water temp sensor.
7-8 is air temp sensor.
