My panel is giving me a "check cell" message. The salt and chlorine levels are good but the message before now was a "low salt/low temp" even when the salt and temp was within working range. I'm wondering if the cell needs replacing or if it's something in the panel. Cell is clean and free of scale.

Welcome to TFP.

You mean the Jandy Pro series TruClear cell?

How are you measuring the salt? Are you using the Taylor K-1766 Salt test Kit?

How old is the cell?

What % do you run the cell for how many hours a day?

We just bought the house in September and they had the output set at 80%. I check the salt using the Taylor kit. As far as I know, this is the original cell when they installed the pool in 2017 and yes, it is the jandy pro series truclear cell. I turned off the cell during the winter months but kept the pool up and running but maintaining the chlorine and chemicals myself. I'm "opening" the pool now to get ready for swimming when the weather warms up and at first it read "lo temp/ lo salt, then turned to "check cell".

What is your water temp?

What salt level do you get from your K-1766 test kit?

If the temperature sensor is a bit off it can throw off the cell. I would wait until your water temp gets to 68-70F and see if the cell works.

If the cell does not work with 70F water then it is probably depleted and needs replacement.

Thank you, I hope that's all it is. I'll keep you posted.
