Hi everyone,

I've had my Jandy LX400 heater for almost 10 years now, and I ran into an issue the other night when attempting to use the spa. The GUI panel indicates that I have an air flow sw issue and the heater will not stay on. The exhaust area is clear for exhaust air flow, and the blower definitely does come on. The heat kicks in too. But once it's lit and I can feel the hot air blowing out of the exhaust area for a while, it shuts down and the error message appears on the screen.

Reading the inside of the heater panel that I removed, it says that this error indicates that there is an open between the terminals of the blower pressure switch. But I don't know what's causing the open in the first place. I suppose the switch itself could be bad, or there is a blockage in the small rubber tube that's connected to the top of the switch. I'm just wondering how I can determine whether or not I need to replace the blower pressure switch.

I've read that there is a reset switch inside the unit near where the water connections are. I have located where this would be, but I can't press the switch at all to attempt a reset (if in fact what I found is actually a switch).

Where's the best place to start?

Thank you!
Greg

Check the tubes in case you had mice inside the unit chewing on them. Then I would check the blower motor and make sure it is fully intact. Many times the squirrel cage on the motor rusts out and thus doesn't provide the air flow for the air switch. If all of that checks out, then the air switch would be the next thing to check.

Thanks, Paul. I thought perhaps the tubes would be the next thing to check. Today or tomorrow I'll pull the top off of the heater and check out the tubes and the blower. If all seems OK and I need to check out the air switch, would I just be checking to make sure the relay is closing and I don't have an open between the two terminals?

Thanks,
Greg
