Hi, So i recently started getting very odd behaviors in the controls where the display/board would reboot itself, get stuck part way through a reboot, but sometimes actually fire up and work for awhile before the unit shuts itself off. I replaced the fenwall and the power control board, and it is slightly less flaky. Next up i am going to replace the power distribution board and the transformer. When I measure the voltages on the power in it looks normal. I am guessing its the transformer, but maybe my jandy automation is starting to get flaky? Doesn't seem to be related to the water flow, it works between 25gpm-80gpm, but again, randomly. The wierd thing is that i get 0 ignition faults etc, when it keeps power its fine. Any one seen anything like this?

Welcome to TFP.

Any signs of rodents getting into your heater?

How much corrosion is in the heater?

Show us pictures of the insides.

So today I swapped the transformer- so far i have swapped the fenwall and main board. Power distributor board is next. ... It is indeed quite foggy by the ocean so a lot of corrosion going on. no mice as of yet.

If the corrosion on the transformer is typical of the rest of the heater you may have a flame sense problem.

So i replaced the power distribution board ... the PCB did seem to be corroded- you can see the old one on the right. The heater power was still flickering from time to time but it managed to actually fire up this evening and heat things up.

ok so today it won't fire up at all... at a loss for what it could be, the debugging sheet did not really explain the lack of any display- i tried swapping it to the previously working fenwall and PIB but same outcome. i may replace the display, but I am about out of ideas.
