Jandy JXI260P heater, 800 gallon spa, what should the delta t per minute be?

Hey everyone,

I have a new spa/pool here in Tennessee. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how fast the water should heat up when running the spa only? Last night I started with 72 F water and it took an hour for it to get to 102 F. I’m not sure how these heaters work, but when I would feel the return water, it will be hot for a few seconds then cold and repeat that pattern. There is plenty of heat coming from the heater when it’s running, which seems like a waste as I would prefer that heat being displaced into the water. Any help is appreciated.

Your heater will heat your spa 30 degrees an hour which is exactly what you got.

200000/(800*8.3)=30
