Jandy JXI 400 Won't stay lit

Hello all,

Have a Jandy JXI 400 that won't stay lit. I did have to replace the Fenwal Ignition controller, after going through the troubleshooting steps in the Jandy book. Replaced with the exact same model.

Now heater powers on, blower turns on, normal time delay then ignitor starts to glow and gas (propane) turns on for a second or so. I can feel the burst of heat out of the exhaust when it does have gas. When the gas turns on it starts with the pulsating exhaust, (a whoosh... whoosh) not fast, perhaps 1 exhaust pulse per second, then stops once gas supply kicks off but fan still going normally. The ignitor then shuts off as you would expect, but gas does not continue to flow from what I can tell, at least I can't smell it.

Checked the ignitor- good
Checked the flame sense rod (actually in the exhaust), looks brand new.
Took some of the ground connections off and wire brushed them

Just not sure what causes gas supply to shut down so quickly especially since does ignite at first, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
