Jandy heater going south?

Hi all,

I don't use my gas powered pool heater very much but today I decided I wanted to have the spa a bit warmer. It didn't seem to warm up as quickly as in the past.
When I looked at the heater it was sending gushes of water up out of what looks like a air vent on top. Maybe a in all a cup a minute so not massive volumes of water.

Any ideas on where I should look to sort out this problem?

Is this something I can try to tackle or is this best left to a professional?

Sounds like a leaking heat exchanger.

You can remove the panels and run the heater and try and see where the water is coming from.

How old is the heater?

I'm not sure how old it is. My guess is that it's about 10 years old.
Prior owner put in all the equipment.

If it's a leaking heat exchanger, is it typically cost effective to repair or am I better off replacing the heater?
