Before I go testing what the E-HTR port does and how it behaves when the Aqualink is in heat mode I thought I'd ask if anybody else knows how this port behaves.

According to documentation there's not much besides saying it would go to a heater aux board, which could connect two heaters to control individually.

Does this E-HTR port close when the heater is turned on? Does it turn on before the heater is fired up, is there a cool down period before it turns off?

I have a gas heater. Does it only work turn on/off with a heat pump?

If nobody knows, I'll report back this weekend after I test. I'd like to control a relay when heat is turned on and this would be perfect for that if it does.

Ended up figuring out how the port works. When the unit calls for heat the aux is energized and when there is no call for heat it is not. There is no delay or cool down period.

It works with a standard relay, or a JVA AUX board to control an actuator.

I cammed the JVA so it always provides some flow, to keep water fresh in the heat exchanger and allow water to flow through and cool down.
