This has no doubt been asked and answer before, but I cannot seem to find the exact answer.

My pool builder installed my system and I want
Hi. My pool builder installed my system and I want to double check the three way valve system.

The way the jandy valve reads, the middle of the three says INLET.

HOwever, the way it is plumbed, it’s actually an outlet and one of the other pipes is the inlet.

Does the matter and how can I ensure the valves are set properly before I install my intellivalve on the three way?

Thanks so much.

It does not matter, that is just a label as long as your valve can rotate to close the two outlets. Some diverters have stops to prevent you from closing the INLET while others let you close all three ports.

You can remove all 8 screws and reposition the INLET label over the proper pipe. Or you can leave it to confuse a future homeowner.
