I don't know if this is trouble but it came to my attention that my salt water generator is over producing chlorine. My salt content is 2.9. The salt content is checked by a Taylor pool test kit. Also the Aqua pure is set a 30%. I have turned it off temporarily to lower the chlorine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ha - well - I think most people would be happy to have this problem. Keep turning it down until you reach equilibrium. What size in the Aquapure? 700 or 1400?

The AP700 produces .625lbs or 10oz of chlorine gas running at 100% for 24 hours. So your 30% setting, provided you are running your pump 24 hours/day, is producing 3oz of chlorine gas. In your pool that adds 1.6 free chlorine/day. So either your pool is very clean, or the cell is over-producing a bit. Most pools lose between 2 and 3 parts chlorine per day. Are you sure of the CYA level? Also are you sure it is the 700 and not the 1400 series, which produces twice as much?

BTW: What is your chlorine and CYA level?
