Hi,

I just had a client call me and ask that I run down to his house and turn on his heat pump as he is coming into town for two days with his family. I went down and the buttons on his 3 month old heat pump do nothing! Lights are on and it's showing 73 on the display. I took off the cover and checked the ribbon connector (which I assume just does the display) and the RJ45 cable. Everything looks good. He called Leslie's and they will have a technician call him on Tuesday to set up a service call. He's panicking now because there is nothing for the kids to do when they arrive down. I'm thinking that there's no easy fix for this that I could do today.

Press the MODE button until the HEAT (HEA) indication displays.

This action will enable the remaining programming keys.

Using the POOL / SPA selector key, select the POOL mode.

An illuminated POOL indicator light, located on the left side of the display, will confirm the POOL control has been selected.

Use the UP / DOWN arrow keys to set the desired water temperature for the POOL water.

Ok. I will fly down there early tomorrow morning and try that. Im pretty sure i pressed every combination possible and held down different buttons but its only 5 minutes away so lets go for it!

Unfortunately no joy. I pressed and held down every combination possible and nothing changes on the display. I would say there's a fault on the board and the owner will just have to wait for Leslie's to send someone out. Thanks everyone for your help!

They know nothing about it....they had it installed at the start of the summer as part of a house flip and then moved back up North. They are only down for a few days to sign the closing snd theyre off to flip another house.

Seems odd for a new unit.

Has the heat pump ever actually run?

You can try resetting the controller to the factory default settings.

Simultaneously press and hold the [POOL/SPA] and [UP ARROW] keys until the display shows “888”.

This operation will reset the controller to the factory default settings.

The manufacturer is listed as Jacuzzi or “Heating Solutions” or “ AQUAPRO SYSTEMS LLC.”.

This is the service number (877) 278-2797.

I think that the unit is actually made by Aquacal.

AquaCal Customer Support at: 800-786-7751.

I would call both numbers to see if they can help.

I don’t think that the keypad would be defective for a new heat pump.

Maybe the keypad ribbon cable is bad?
