Jacuzzi J-VSP250 timers

Just about 2 years ago, I replaced a very old failed single speed pump with a new VSP250 from Leslie's. It was expensive, but loved the 5-yr warranty with their install. It offers 4 programmable timer periods, and the installer went ahead and set the timers, with me accepting his experienced suggestions on the subject. I'm now looking to redo the timer schedules...

The Jacuzzi manual is poorly written, of course. Pump offers 3 adjustable rpm settings, lo-med-hi. On the LCD screen, it shows a 1, 2, or 3 to indicate what speed setting is in use. The manual, in 2 places, indicates the 1-2-3 means lo-med-hi, or hi-med-lo !! BUT, the numbering is easy enough to figure out when the pump is running... so that's "ok".

My issue is, trying to change the timer settings. Installer set up 2 timers, high speed for a couple hours at startup at 10pm, then switching to low speed overnight. I'm trying to run 3 timers instead, startup on high speed from 9pm to 11pm, then switching to med speed for 4 hours, then switching to low speed for 4 hours. I don't feel the low speed overnight is doing enough, so wanting to run med instead for 4 hrs.

The manual spells out the steps to adjust the timers, though I won't say it's well written. So I've gone through that process a couple times, and feel it's done correctly. The first timer kicks in at 9 pm as it's supposed to, runs on high until 11 pm. But at 11 pm, the pump shuts down instead of switching to medium speed on timer 2. The display still indicates it's powered up and all, but the pump simply isn't operating. At that point I shut off the Auto operation, and manually start it up on medium speed to run overnight. My salt cell is on its own separate system timer, so I need the pump running while the cell is powered up.

In the morning 6-7 a.m., I go out back and shut down the medium speed manual operation. Then I hit the Auto setting, and the pump starts back up into the Timer 3 program (that ends at 8am) !! So I apparently have a functioning Timer 1 running from 9 - 11 pm, then a Timer 2 that won't start up, from 11pm to 3am, then a Timer 3 that DOES run to 8am if I switch to Auto operation in the morning. I can't figure out what the heck is wrong with my Timer 2 settings that it won't run as programmed. I've gone through the reprogramming a few times and it always just stops at the 11pm end of Timer 1.

Has anyone else found the VSP250 timer programming is a PITA? I finally stopped by Leslie's (PRO location) to ask for help, and unfortunately the store staff have no pump programming knowledge. They set up a tech visit for next Monday morning. Hoping someone here has successfully reprogrammed the Timer settings on one of these? I think the VSP150 and 250 operate the same in this issue.

Update...

So I've gone through reprogramming the timers like 4 different evenings now, and each night the 2nd timer wouldn't kick in. Went through the programming again last night, changing the times around a bit, first timer ending at midnight instead of 11pm. Lo and behold, at midnight Timer 1 ended and Timer 2 started like it's supposed to! No idea why it worked this time. Timer 2 is 12 to 5 am, so I went out just before 5 to check for the next period, and it also worked normally, again. So I'm really at a loss as to why the previous few nights the reprogramming wouldn't run Timer 2, only 1 and 3.

Still looking for any input here. No one with any experience with these pump timers?

I just setup a 3 timer scheme on my J-VSP250 pump. As far as I can tell, the timers operate within a 24 hour period. Therefore, you can't have a timer extend past 12 midnight. You have to set one timer to end at midnight, and another timer to begin at midnight as you stated.
