Hi All,
I've gotten the fire hose of knowledge and am now loving life the TFP way. Was a bit of a learning curve... trying to learn over the winter without "doing it" made it tough. Once I started to put into practice everything from this site, it all sank in and became easy.
I'm in central jersey, and the wife and I just bought our forever home, pool included. The biggest learning curve is all the pumps and valves that are there, attached to the old Polaris EOS 3 system that only half works (turns on pumps, lights, but doesn't move valves or even hold a schedule because the internal clock never advances, it's always 8:36pm).
So first things first... learn to balance the water with a proper test kit in tow. Mission accomplished!
Next... figure out what I want to do with the electricity hog pumps I have (5 of them!) along with the automation that I'd love to get working for more than a few reasons.
So I look forward to the interactions and close-knit community nature of these forums... Thanks all and nice to meet you.
And finally, since I hear pics are a must:
