Is this scale?

I am draining my hot tub so snapped this photo of the hard white stuff building up above the water line (water line was where the tile is dark blue). Is it scale? I've tried wiping it off with vinegar but it doesn't help much. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Looks like scale to me.. I suggest you use Muriatic Acid diluted one to one.. I put it in a spray bottle and let it sit a minute or more.. It should bubble like crazy if calcium.

I then scrub it with one of those green kitchen pads and rinse it off with pool water...

I suggest you try one small spot and see how well it works..

The main problem is that just wetting it will make it appear to go away, but when it dries it will come right back... So you might have to do it a couple of times...
