Is this Mustard Algae

I see them now. Next time post them like this so they are easier to read
FC 2-4
PH 7.8
TA 100
CYA 75.

When you get the FAS/DPD kit add-on, you will find that your FC is too low......allowing algae to grow.

You will want to SLAM your pool. Can't do it just yet because you need that FAS/DPD chlorine test, When it get's in, run just the FC and CYA test and get ready to SLAM.

What chemical are those pucks?

Did you see that it was sand not algae?

I’ve read algae feeds on phosphates.
It DOES. But. Imagine having boiling water with high phosphates. You wouldn't care because the algae couldn't grow or feed from it. (Boiling would reduce/wipe out the phosphorus too, but let's just pretend for a min :ROFLMAO:).

So just like boiling, If you're properly chlorinated, algae isn't a concern and it's 'food' is even less than no concern.
