Is this all I need to backwash DE filter?

Just to be sure all I would need would be a 3" hose with a clamp to backwash?

That is generally correct, but measure the diameter of the outlet, my guess is 1.5" or 2"...not 3"...and appropriate clamp...

I measured the outlet and it came out to be 3"

I would avoid backwashing with a slide valve.

It is better to just open it up and give it a proper cleaning.

Let's say the pool is covered in algae can I backwash constantly without adding DE, or would I need to add DE every single time? Or is it better to remove the filters and clean them every single time?
