Is this algae?

I just noticed these green spots in my grout for the first time. Is it algae or something else? The pool color seems fine. FYI I have a swg but am a relatively new pool owner and just got the swg installed a month ago. I don’t use any extra chemical, I just skim occasionally. Pool is usually 89-90 degrees without the heater needing to run.

That looks like algae. Is this a new pool as well or just the SWCG is new? Do you have any similar spots in the curvature of the steps or corners or anywhere underwater?

20 year old pool. 1 month old swg and heater though. Getting the pool resurfaced and tiling replaced in a month.

I’ll update the description when I can figure out how big it is and the equipment details beyond what I already could figure out 😊

Suggest you take some bleach (liquid chlorine) mixed with water and scrub those corners and grout to remove all algae. You don't want that if you are retiling, new plaster, etc. You can start a new thread under construction if you have questions on new plaster, tiles, etc. You can also post pictures of equipment pad and people can help identify equipment if you are stumped.
Good Luck.
