Is this a good price for 12.5% liquid chlorine?

I'm in the Lewisville area. So maybe next time I cross into OK, I need to check out a store there. Today I went to Lowe's as suggested. The only chlorine I could find was as bleach in the laundry aisle. I read and read, but could not find the concentration listed on any of the containers. I didn't want an unknown quantity, so I went to WalMart and bought 6%. Am I looking in the wrong area of Lowe's to find the 10%? I did ask a clerk, but the only thing he suggested was the laundry aisle.
 
I went into a pool store the other day for a solar blanket and they had 12.5% liquid for $22 something for 4 gallons. What get's me is the guy was trying to say it's 15%. I looked at the bottle and it says 12.5%. He says it's 15% because it's fresh.

Does that sound right?

My thinking is, if it's 15%, it'd be labeled on the bottle as 15% and not 12.5%. I don't know, I didn't buy any. :roll:

Any way, I agree. I'm not sure I see the savings. I buy 10 gallons of liquid bleach 1x per year, $46. 1 Tub of pucks, $ 75.00. A couple of bags of Calcium ($12). Total of $133 a year. Sorry, 2 lbs of shock powder, 8 bucks for a total of 141 dollars. I think last year I spent another 20 bucks on closing chemicals. And the pool store provides free testing I can't recommend Town and Country Pools in Phillipsburg, NJ enough. Great install and post sales support.

The rain is killing me this year. I had to dump off more than 6" of water, killing my FC

I added and extra gallon of bleach Friday to bump up my FC. pH is running on the edge of high but I'm not worried yet.
 
It is possible for 12.5% to actually be 15%, if you are in the store while it is being delivered. Likewise, if it has been in the store for a couple of weeks or more it is most likely be noticeably below 12.5%. They deliver it stronger because it breaks down sitting on the shelf, and they want it to average 12.5% across it's entire shelf life. Hopefully you shop somewhere with high turnover.
