Is plastic base needed or recommended for pump and filter?

Hello all,
I'm still in the process of installing and burying aquasport 52 in my backyard. It's ugly right now. Lots of rain... I'm trying to plan out the equipment pad. I recently noticed my filter ( Hayward extreme 150) and pump ( speck variable speed) did not come with a plastic base to sit on. It's this worth buying for this for $100, or can the equipment just sit on the concrete. This is a link for the bar I would need to buy. Thanks for the help! Either is fine. Think pad size though since many times those pre-fab pads have limited sizes.
