Hello everyone I want to know if it is fine to put a Sand filter, pump and swg in a deck box? I would like to house my equipment in one of those resin plastic deck boxes and cut holes in the sides for the plumbing pipes to run in an out off.

Any chance this will cause problems? I want to keep this housing year round and wonder will it be enough ventilation or will it be too much heat?

I also see that most filters have a drain plug so I'd also drill small holes in the bottom for the water to drain out the bottom. I already have 2 large deck boxes not in use. TIA

I found this video with exactly what I am looking to do. I am open to all suggestions and feedback. Also if sharing videos isn't allowed please let me know.

Found my solution which should work well enough. Two returns towards the bottom on one side and one exhaust up towards the top to exhaust the heat out.

So I dry fitted every except the hoses but I think I can get both pumps in one deck box which is good. I will put a Bluetooth thermometer to monitor the temperature inside. But so far I think it might work. Still hopeful someone with experience with trying this can chime in..

Now I need to figure out the best way to run and use two pumps..? Someone suggested I run the SWG pump to the pool and dual Hayward skimmers and use the 2nd pump and sand filter separately for the pool vacuum. Again I am open to ideas from anyone with experience running dual pumps and sand filters..

This post is the epitome of why TFP makes my $300 CL pool so expensive. First I saw @chandra5103 here Hayward or Intex sand filter to buy and use ti with Intex salt system. Anyone can help, please? and now you. I love this plan. I hate how I plumbed all my equipment right on the wall of my pool. A few weeks ago I started thinking about moving everything a few feet away. Then I saw these and, yup it's happening, in some kind of shed or deckbox. It will be a fall / winter / spring project for sure, but it's happening. I've already messaged the BF and said to get ready to move power and plumbing in a few months. Please update how everything works out over the summer in the heat.

I sure will! I hope it will be okay if people are putting hot heat generating generators in these things and this doesn't draw nearly as much heat

I’ve thought about a three sided solution, with one side open for air flow and a roof to prevent baking.

Well here is an update of things cut out and roughed in. I only need to cut a hole to get the electric out of the deck box and two drain holes in the bottom for water drainage of the sand filters and the debris baskets. I have added the exhaust "attic fan" and a very large 12x12 return for max airflow. I will caulk around both once I've connected it to the pool whenever I actually hook it up..

Does anyone know of an easy way to extend and connect to the intex hoses? My pool will not be close enough to reach the sand filter and pump hoses.
