Hi everyone. I had a 12x24 kidney pool installed this summer. The pool was an inground "kit" that included all the required parts to install it, excluding the concrete of course. It was ordered from Pool Supplies Canada.
It is a steel wall in ground pool. I just realized that when my installer put the pool together, he didn't use any rebar on the pool floor during the concrete pouring. He used a very hard type of concrete called Portland? I'm pretty sure it's a 3" thick slab? I'm beginning to wonder if rebar was required as part of the process?
i re-read the instructions provided by the pool manufacturer and they make no mention of using rebar when pouring and finishing the pool floor. These instructions are quite detailed and again make no mention of rebar, or is it part of their photo instructions showing the concrete being poured? Which is the same guide my installer used.
Is rebar mandatory in the build of a steel walled, inground pool?
