Is it just dead algae?

Have you backwashed your sand filter? When fighting algae that is needed to clear the sand filter.
Alternatively you can vacuum to waste if that is feasible.

Do you have a hairnet, like they may use in a kitchen. In USA, we can buy a 100 for like $10 on Amazon. So easy to install on basket and then discard. Not sure what you have access to.
I backwash when the pressure rises enough - I’m afraid to do it too often, as I hear the filter works better if there’s some dirt in the sand.
The nylon stocking went on the hose last night and caught a lot, so I’m leaving it on to see, if it helps clearing a bit more up👍🏻

The space between the sand grains allows the fluid to pass through. When those passageways become blocked with dirt then the filter pressure increases. It is best to remove as much debris as feasible with each backwash.
Furthermore you should do a deep clean on the sand filter when required.

I deep cleaned last week - lots of nasty stuff…….
When the pump goes up by 20-25%, typically while vacuuming, I backwash. But since yesterday, the pressure has barely increased even when vacuuming. Perhaps because the particles just pass through.
It looks like my stocking in the suction-side does its job. Whenever i check, there’s some of the white stuff in it.
So maybe that’s what’s needed.
My CC is 1-2, overnight loss was about 1,5 this morning. And I didn’t check until a few hours after sunrise, so I’m optimistic.
The sun sets at 10.15 pm and rises about 6 hours later, so it’s difficult to do a correct oclt if I also want some sleep 😁

As long as the sun is off the pool the OCLT should work but testing nearer the dusk and dawn the better.
