I just realized that the dichlor I had been using to chlorinate until the water was warm enough to use the SWG is the clorox blue stuff which has copper. So I can simply not use those anymore but I've found that there's some orange staining in the deep end where I added the salt and dichlor. The plaster in the area has some worn areas but those are normally dark gray but I'm seeing a bit or orange now.

Likely to be iron stains and not copper? Any good way to get a vitamin c tablet down there without me actually going down 8 feet? If it is iron, I've read that an ascorbic acid followed by filtering out the iron with polyfill is the right plan?

What brand salt did you use?

its was the Home Depot pool salt, diamond crystal swim ready.

The forum is not letting me upload a picture for some reason. Not really orange, but more tan colored and they are a concentrated around the worn plaster areas.

I used to be able to post pictures. Not sure what happened. I’ll see if I can lower a tablet down there.
