My name is Norm and having just retired I have decided to take on the day to day maintenance of our beloved Dejoyeaux salt water pool! Found the site very helpful in de-mystifying the chemical side and am keen to learn. I have most of the gear I need but one question I would have is what chemicals should I keep on hand and what should I just go get when I need them ?

Muriatic Acid on hand.
Cyanuric Acid - I keep 8lbs on hand.
Salt - I keep a couple bags around.
Calcium Chloride if you have a plaster pool. I would buy it when you need it.

Recommended Pool Chemicals
Which should I buy? TFP's recommended pool chemicals are cheap, easy, and won't unbalance your pool water.
