INTEX CLEANER

Hello, new guy here! The little INTEX cleaner doesn't seem to be doing much work? The old hose had several leaks, so I put on a new hose and it doesn't seem to be helping. Is there a way to rebuild this little robot? Any help would be appreciated...

What exactly is it doing or Not Doing as may be the case?
Do you have it attached to the output from the pump back into your pool? (These are a pressure side cleaner, not suction side.)

Yes it is attached to the pump return to the pool [pressure side]. Just sits there and very seldom moves. It used to run forward and then stop and go the other direction. I found the gear drive assembly for about $28...I did not order, yet...

Intex Automatic Vacuum getting stuck fix.

Figured I would share my success story. I used to have problems with my Intex auto pool cleaner (crawler) with it getting stuck often and what not. I was looking at some YouTube tutorials on fixes for these things and it looks like sand/grit gets stuck in the gears and stops it from reversing...

WOW!!! Many thanks! Different subject, but when I put my "through the wall" skimmer in place, how do I plug the two holes for the original suction?

I installed a Hayward skimmer and used the strainer hole plug that came with the pool to seal the original holes. You may want to use those holes in the future. I used the original skimmer for a fountain last year. This year, I have installed PVC pipe and I have tied both the Hayward skimmer and the original holes to feed the pump. I have valves to control where the water flows from.

You did what I did and used DWV PVC instead of Schd 40.
