Interruption in SLAM

We noticed the water looked a bit green last weekend and began a slam. Today (4 days after the last test) the tub reads 8 FC as soon as we opened it but still has the same greenish color. I'm writing to get opinions on if this info passes the sniff test with the experts. If the tub maintained 8 or higher FC for four days, should we still see a greenish hue?

Stats and testing...
520 gallon with top on all of the time, temperature between 106 and 96 degrees the entire time.
TimeFCCCPh TACHCYAAction
9/4/22 15:00006.6280156012 oz 6% bleach
9/4/22 17:003.51.512 oz 6% bleach
9/4/22 18:30140
9/4/22 21:0011.50.54 oz 6% bleach
9/5/22 11:2011.50.58 oz 6% bleach (larger because we knew we were leaving)
9/9/22 11:4084.5 oz 6% bleach

Is it clear & green? Or murky? The low ph is definitely a problem. High levels of fc with no cya are very harsh on the equipment as well.
It may be best to purge, drain, refill & re balance - use this guide 👇

Maybe that first test we did was off for some reason because the water is mostly clear but still consuming chlorine like crazy.

Thank you, my friend says the green I’m calling out is light from reflection of blue bubble blanket between top and water. Either way…. Water looking better but consuming lots of bleach. If it doesn’t slow shortly we’ll drain and refill. Thank you for article. I’ll read asap.

Periodic purging of bio-contaminants can assist in so many ways. Hot tub owners who successfully purge their plumbing and jets a minimum of twice annually will enjoy cleaner and clearer water and spend much less on peripheral chemicals. Contrary to what most recreational water users think, chlorine is not capable of removing biofilms from adult colonies of slime layers within their plumbing. These slime layers are protecting multitudes of bacteria from oxidation. An effective purge product will sufficiently break through the slime layers and help release the gunk. Once removed, water will be easier to maintain and the sanitizer demand and decay rate will be lowered. It is amazing how many millions of hot tub owners just hate to drain their water. Happy hot tub owners perform periodic purges and they are generously rewarded for doing so.

If you have no CYA, your chlorine won’t last very long at all. That may be why.

Doesn’t the heat degrade FC and CYA also buffered against that. I had assumed it did but stand corrected if not.
No heat protection - cya just protects fc from uv & buffers it’s harshness.
The high heat of a spa does degrade cya over time though so it needs to be replenished occasionally. I have to use dichlor every other week or so to maintain the cya level in my spa. I run it at 104 degrees & sometimes a little higher.
