Here is a video explaining my issue. Figured it would be easier to do that than try to type it out. Basically...the intellivalve when stopped at the limit for the right side going to the spa, it doesn't quite come far enough. So a little water is going to the spa when in pool mode. Not hurting anything per se...i'm just losing a little pressure for the returns/sheers. I don't see any way to correct it, as everything seems fixed as far as positioning goes. The other side movement limit to the left lines up perfect.

1st question which im guessing no, is this still under the three year warranty? When you run the intellivalve while ot os off of the jandy does it make the full 180° rotation? The intellivalve, unlike the old cva valves, don't have hardware stops internally. I beleive they work on current/resistance to stop so if it's stopping early there may be something binding up at the end.
The valve gears are all metal but several of the ones I've dismantled have broken a plastic screw standoff which could leave a piece floating to bind.

original install was november 2019. both intellivalves were replaced under warranty in 2022. warranty is from original install date, which has passed.

when i run it while it's off the 3 way, it stops at the same spot. just shy of where it needs to be. i also tried re-programming the stops, thinking maybe when they replaced them back in 2022, they just didn't run them all the way to the right side. no go...still stops short, in the same spot. =/

i'm on hold with pentair right now, just to see what they have to say. i don't see any way to adjust the stop point so it's a little further completing the 180 degree swing. one more thing i'm going to do is remove the second intellivalve and see if it does the same thing. if not, i'll just swap them cause i don't really care much if the suction side doesn't close completely to one direction.

Unfortunately there is no way to adjust the final stop point.
The two halves of the intellivalves are glued together. Up thru at least 2022 (the newest ones I've disasembled) the glue is haphazardly placed and 1 can allow moisture intrusion (the most common failure and typically seen with intellivalves installed face up like yours and most of mine are) 2 can allow flexing which results in the broken internal mounting posts which hold the motor.
If you are so inclined, a little heat and some prying will open the case up pretty quickly at which point you can clean any debris , epoxy broken posts and reseal the assembly.

interesting! thanks for the pics, those are awesome. i'm hoping mine will be ok installed face up now that i have the whole pad under a cover. very little rain gets in there at all anymore. i built the cover for it back in spring of 2023.

i just took off the intellivalve on the suction side and it indeed did NOT have the same issue as the one on the return side. it moves a full 180 degrees so i just swapped them on the valves and on the panel. zero water leaking to the spa side when in pool mode now...so i'm happy with that. i can live with a little leakage on the suction side, especially because the direction that intellivalve is stopping short is the right side. which on the suction side would be when it's in spa mode, so even better. 😃
