Intelligent Pump

Good Morning,

I have searched the prior posts and cannot find information on the Intelliflo VSF model. I see plenty of posts comparing the VS to the VF but none on the combined model. My pool builder has this one sitting at my house ready for install: Pentair Intelliflo VSF 011056.

Anyone have this or know anything about it?

Thanks!!

This is what I found...

Upgrade your pump to the revolutionary energy efficiency and ultra-quiet operation of IntelliFlo VS. You’ll save up to 90%** in energy costs or up to $1,500** a year.

Recommended Applications:
Recommended for 2" Plumbing Inlet/Outlet
The IntelliFlo 011056 VSF Variable speed and Flo pump typically slashes energy costs 30% to 90%!
Great for New Pools or Energy Saving Upgrades. Replaces .75HP, 1HP, 1.5HP, 2HP and 3HP traditional induction motor/conventional pump applications

Intellflo VSF Pump Features:
• The IntelliFlo variable speed and Flo pump, with dual-pump technology, precise flow control for water clarifying circulation and a pristine pool experience!
• The IntelliFlo VSF is the only pump combing speed and flo
• The IntelliFlo variable speed pump, employs exclusive permanent magnet motors (used in hybrid cars) that provide a typical "base savings" of 30% over any pump with a traditional induction motor
• IntelliFlo digital controls and proprietary software allow custom programming of the optimum speed per function-filtering, heating, cleaning operating water features-for even greater savings...up to 90%
For most all applications the optimum speed is significantly lower than traditional pump technology so you can exploit a fundamental pump law: by going slower power consumption is reduced
In fact when pump speeds are reduced by half energy use is just one-eighth of what was previously used
• Thanks again to IntelliFlo's permanent magnet motor and totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) design, the IntelliFlo may be the quietest pump ever built!
At typical speeds you barely notice it. Longer trouble-free service life-greater return on investment
• IntelliFlo pump's permanent magnet motor produces far less heat and vibration than traditional induction motors. This results in less stress and wear on pump components and other equipment too
• Built-in diagnostics protect the IntelliFlo from the most common causes of premature pump failure-overheating freezing and voltage irregularities

The IntelliFlo VSF Variable Speed and Flo pool pump features 8 speeds with a programmable time clock for each speed and an LCD screen that displays actual watts being used, saving hundreds per year
Standard pool pumps can consume as much energy as all other home appliances combined-often costing more than $1,000 per year!

Intelliflo's totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) design and permanent magnet motor is so critical for energy savings
This combination along with slower operating speeds is responsible for the Sta-Rite IntelliPro and IntelliFlo pumps dramatic energy savings
At typical speeds you can barely hear them operating

IntelliFlo® variable speed pumps can typically cut energy use up to 90% generally saving $620 to $1,500 in utility costs annually-more where rates are higher than average
*Exclusive advanced motor IntelliFlo variable speed technology typically provides base savings of 30%, along with trouble-free service life over conventional pumps.

Thanks,

Jim R.

It's Pentair's newest top of the line pump. They have combined the 2 VST and the VF pump into a pump that can be set by speed or flow. The 2 VST only came out a couple years ago and this pump replaces it in their lineup.

The pump only manages flow up to a set pressure where it switches to managing pressure.

Otherwise, the pump can damage a dirty filter by trying to push too much water through a dirty filter.
