Intelliflo running max speed and won't slow down; then shuts off

This just started today, Intelliflo running max speed and won't slow down; then shuts off. I have a intellitouch, intellichem, and chlorinator. Two days ago, my Chlorinator lights quit working (no lights; day 3). Today Intelliflo running max speed and won't slow down; then shuts off.
I cleaned the basket, and skimmers. no air in basket. I checked the prime speed set at 2800rpm although the max speed is running 3500 something.
I unplugged the comms from the intelliflo and ran manually and still runs at max speed. Water squirting out all sorts of places since the filter shows high pressure. Even the Chlorinator is spraying out the face.
1. is the chlorinator and max speed related? I would suspect a chlorinator transformer is out.
2. if my baskets and skimmers are clear, what is causing the intelliflo max speed? according to previous forums, the comm should be ok, since I unplugged it and still having issues.
HELP!!

Sherry,

I suspect that you have lost your RS-485 com port.

When in the Service mode, or the com cable is disconnected, or you have no working com port, the pump will only run from its internal programming.

Put the System into the Service mode and use the pump's display and see if you can control the pump.

I also suspect that your pump may be wired to the load side of the pump/filter relay. And that is why the pump starts at full speed and then shuts off after priming.

Please tell me if the pump's display works while in the Service mode.. After putting it in the Service mode, do not push any other buttons on the main panel.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Ok, not sure what I did to fix. I backflushed the DE filter and cycled with the outflow valves. But in either case, it is running at set speed. Now my Chlorinator is still leaking out the face and still no power. going to check the transformer voltage as soon as it cools outside a bit.

Sherry,

Looks like I was wrong... again!!!

Glad you got it working..

When was the last time the DE filter was broken down and cleaned?? You can only back-wash a few times in a row.

I'd take the cell out, and make sure that is it not clogged up.. If not, lube the O-rings in the unions, and stick it back in.

Thanks,

Jim R.
