New member here. I just bought a home and it had a pool. I have never had a pool but have had a fish tank for many years so allot of the pool chemistry and filtration has not been so tough. I have been lurking here for a few weeks and read other posts etc and decided to make a post after I did this pump install.

I am making this post to help people deciding because I never really found a post that helped me.

Old Setup:

Pentair 3400rpm pump - nothing fancy
Jandy Aqualink revision G
1.5" multiport valve

If you are debating on going with a pentair VS pump because you are not sure how easy it will integrate with the aqualink, do not worry.

I changed all my plumbing on my pad to 2" pipe because it was all 1.5". I have more work to do because it appears I have 2" plumbing going to and from the pool but for some reason the pad was 1.5".

Previous owner glued all the threaded fittings so I had to just get a new multiport valve so I upgraded to a 2" version.

The Jandy IQ20-RS install took maybe 20 minutes.

The plumbing for the new pump took about an hour.

When wiring up the Pentair VS pump to the aqualink board you have two wires coming from the pump (yellow and green). On the aqualink panel you have a red plug and all you have to do is wire the yellow wire to the #2 slot and the Green wire to the #3 slot. Then go into the aqualink controls and select pentair VS pump.

I currently have the pump running at 1250 RPM and this is no lie. It is so quiet that you have to put your hand on it to see if its actually running. My spa spills into my pool and the water is louder than the pump.

I hope this helps anyone who is trying to decide on whether to go with this setup.

The new iaqualink is pretty cool.
