Intellichlor IC40 ICG will start up when pumps are turned on. Cell lights go out after about 2 seconds. Cell had a small bit of scale, which i dont think is related to this issue. I use an easytouch system where the chlorinator is connected to a PCBA(attached photo) in the main enclosure. Status light on the card is green and circuit breaker is in. Do anyone know what the input and output voltages to the PCBA card are supposed to be? Does the card use AC or DC power? Anyone have a wiring diagram for this system? Thanks....and if this particular issue has already been addressed in a different thread, my apologies.

52,

The card receives about 30 Volts AC and converts it into about 40 volts DC between the black and red wires going to the cell. When the cell is producing and the cell light is on, the DC voltage will drop to about 36 volts...

It is a chicken or egg thing... Is the cell bad loading down the power supply card, or is the card bad and not supplying enough power to the cell???

How old is the cell?

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. Cell is up there in age, close to 7 years. It doesnt have that many hours on it, as it is disconnected from typically December - early to mid March. Just reconnected it and was running perfectly for about a week prior to this issue. I backprobed the cell power connector( red and black wires) while it was running. Shows 43-44 volts. I guess that means the cell is shot??

52,

Yes, just unplug the old cell and install the new one..

How come you have a SWCG in Houston.. ???

According to all the pool builders in Houston, a SWCG will corrode everything and the entire pool will crumple and collapse into a giant sink hole.. :laughblue:

Thanks,

Jim R.

I wish... I was a Radar Technician and was fortunate to receive a couple of incentive flights in the F4E.. I had a barf bag in every pocket of my flight suit, but fortunately did not have to use them. My Avatar pics is from the flight I had while stationed in Alaska.. Quite a thrill..

Thanks for the memories..

That would have been a fun ride!! Im an Air Force guy too. Flew B52s. I recognized the Martin Baker ejection seat handles. The F4 was before my time, but I love that plane. I think some guys still operate one out of Ellington Field, on the airshow circuit.

52,

I kind-of thought that was the case...

What was "Before your time" is the B-52 which has been around longer than both of us combined... Great Aircraft that keeps getting better with age. Can't say the same for the F-4 which they now use as Target Drones... :(
