Just had an intellicenter installed. Everything is working well. However the pump (single speed) that runs my polaris pool cleaner seems to have a 5 minute delay when turning *on* ... however there is no (or very minimal) delay when turning off. My VS pump has no (or very minimal) delay when turning on or off. So not sure if there is a setting that I can change here or if its hardcoded to work this way.

Not a huge deal, more of a minor annoyance but if there is a way to change it I definitely would like to. Any help or insight anyone can provide?

This is normal. The Intellicenter wants to make sure the main filter pump is primed and running before turning on the cleaner's booster pump. Unlike some other delays, this one is not programmable. You can cancel it manually if you don't want to wait the 5 minutes.

Manual, page 59:
an automatic pool cleaner pump, would assign the circuit function Master Cleaner. With this cleaner logic the cleaner pump would not run without the filter pump being on first, and, the cleaner pump would automatically shut off whenever the spa is switched on. The cleaner will go on after the five minute delay.

Will,

I suspect your booster pump has a circuit function of master cleaner, which means the system is waiting for the main pump to start first, even though it is already on. Change the function to generic and see what happens.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Ah I see. Thank you both for the explanation.

Per the manual it looks like I can click a random cancel button in the delays menu to cancel all the current delays... however I don't see a way to cancel the delay from the mobile app. I'm assuming that would be too convenient? :D

Not great UI/UX but I guess that's to be expected to some extent from Pentair lol...

Also, any idea if the intellicenter is doing any actual logic in that 5 minutes to determine if the main pump is actually running? Or is it just a "dumb" 5 minute timer than will start the booster pump after 5 minutes regardless of what else is going on? I'm assuming the latter but hope I'm wrong.
