IntelliCenter - Pool Circuit State after Power Outage

Morning folks!

I’ve noticed that each time we lose power, which happens every 3-4 weeks around here, the pool circuit reverts to off on the IntelliCenter. This results in the pump not running until I notice or remember to go check it. Is there a way to change the default to “prior state”? I’ve looked everywhere but can’t seem to find it if it is there. Thanks!

Mine will revert to the schedule. I have mine scheduled for 24 hours so its always on. If I lose power, when the power comes back on, the schedule says to have the pool circuit going (and whatever else it should have depending on day/time) and the pump restarts.

At least that is how it works in my head from the last time I remember the power going out. I don't recall having to manually restart it.

Hi all,

This is still happening and driving me bonkers. Lost power twice last night and it turned off both times. Wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't using a SWCG. Anyone have a clue where to begin looking for the issue? I've been over everything several times now and can't figure it out. Maybe @MyAZPool?

What are you trying to do with all those 10 minute pump runtimes?

You need a basic schedule for your POOL circuit for the time you want your filter pump running. Without that schedule the IC will not restart the pump when power is restored.

We have a line of super dirty trees on the upwind side of the pool, and after a lot of experimenting, that 10 minutes of higher pump speed is just enough to disturb things such that the skimmer can get almost all of the debris.

One additional question - if I want it to run 24 hours, do I set the start and end times to the same time?

8AM-8AM at the lowest speed you want the pump to run. That keeps the pump always on even through power failures.

These are merely my thoughts as well as guidelines for me, when it comes to IntelliCenter schedules.
1. In my experiences, the IntelliCenter is NOT very IntelliGENT when it comes to schedules (and other areas as well). Super basic. What I mean by that is that the logic does NOT prevent you from making scheduling mistakes that will result in "issues", like more advanced firmware/software does.
2. When it comes to IntelliCenter scheduling, I use the KISS principle.
3. Yes, I do run my system just about 24x7 but with some caveats. However, I always run my pump at the bare minimum speed (800 rpm) during times where electricity here is the most expensive ("peak times").
4. I NEVER overlap schedules. I've found that this can result in problems. Some have issues with overlapping schedules, others do not, so go figure. Here is a good example of the KISS principle as it relates to IntelliCenter scheduling.
5. I end one program (Circuit Group) at 55 minutes past the hour (with one exception (05:25)) and start the next program on the hour.
6. I NEVER run a schedule past midnight and into the next day. I stop one program at 23:55 and start the next one at 0:05.
7 Below is an example of my summer schedule. My winter schedule is different but I still apply all of my rules listed above.
