How many many steps does it takes to turn a feature group on/off? Haven't been able to find video or pics, so just guessing from what I've read in the manual:
Home
Features
Groups
Select target group
on/off

Any way to shortcut?

--------------------

Do delays work in groups? Example: want a valve change to complete before changing pump speed

--------------------

Related: Is there a wireless, waterproof button control something like the Quick Touch that can be programmed for group on/off?

@MyAZPool @setsailsoon my IntelliCenter is in a box in my garage waiting hookup

@dianedebuda are you asking about an outdoor spa control panel? Pentair has a 4 button and I think it is an 8 button wired outdoor spa controller.

I saw the wired version, but want a wireless. Have an abnormal setup: pool only but with on-demand, spa-type jets on one side of seating area. To use the jets I have to:
--change return water flow from Returns line to Jets line
--restrict flow to solar panels (because of next item)
--increase pump speed
--decrease SWG output level
--turn on blower

For a Pool only config, think I have to create a Group to do this. If my suspicion is correct, it takes 5 steps to do the on/off from phone/computer/panel. Would prefer a wireless remote with a simple button push; don't want to use SmartPhone by pool.

Perhaps I could configure this as a pool/spa. I think I read somewhere that the SWG output is auto decreased when going to Spa mode. Maybe instead of the normal change of pool-to-spa suction & return changes (2 actuators), I could do the solar flow actuator & Returns/Jets actuator. It seems much simpler operationally from the panel to switch between Pool & Spa. Still evaluating.

Hmm, depends.
1. From the Web-Client, 1 click and 1 slide :). Click on FEATURES on the HOME navigation bar > Then slide the desired CIRCUIT GROUP to ON.
2. From the iOS or Android app, tap FEATURES > scroll to GROUPS and the slide the desired CIRCUIT GROUP to ON.
3. From the Control Panel, tap the touch screen to wake it up, tap FEATURES, tap GROUPS, tap the desired CIRCUIT GROUP to ON.
Those are the quickest ways that I know to turn on a CIRCUIT GROUP. Other than a Amazon Alexa command ("Alexa ask/tell my pool to turn on the (CIRCUIT GROUP NAME"), which for some of us are having problems. Seems some are still able to use it.

Yes, but I don't think it works all that great. Valve delays are selected in SETTINGS > GENERAL SETTINGS > ADVANCED SETTINGS in the Web Client.
I find that the valve has usually not finished it's movement from one setting to the other before the pump begins. I conveyed this to Tech Support, but I don't think that anything has been addressed with it and really, it's no big deal. I don't find it hampers my operation in a negative way at all.

The QuickTouch II can control up to four circuits. I don't know for sure but would assume that it can control a CIRCUIT GROUP. Maybe someone else knows or check with Pentair to confirm.
The QuickTouch II is wireless.
r.

So the Group is listed directly on the Features page and can be turned on/off from there? That wouldn't be too bad.

Might be a problem for me though.

The docs seem to indicate that it can be programmed for a Group. But those docs do not list IntelliCenter as being compatible.

YES

I can't imagine how. It does not take that long for the IntelliValve to traverse the full range of motion. I timed it once and posted in one of the threads but I can't remember now.

If I had to guess, I would say that the QT II would support the groups but that is why I recommend confirming with Pentair first. It supports the IntelliTouch Feature Macros and that is the same thing as an IntelliCenter Feature Group basically. The QT II was released before the IntelliCenter and I am about 99.9% sure that Pentair will never go back and issue a revision to a publication. ;)

Pentair does not go back and update their docs. It seems like anything connecting to the RS-485 bus works on the IntelliCenter as well as the older automation. Confirm it with Pentair Support.

[delay being a problem] I can't imagine how.
I'm thinking if actuator motion not completed, possible for too much water flow to solar panels = potential damage. Could be a mountain out of a mole hill though.

Didn't think about docs not being updated. Duh. Will call Pentair about it.

Just thinking out loud here. You could always "step-up" the speed to the pump in increments. by placing two or three different speeds within the macro. It will first take a few seconds for the pump to actually begin and then more seconds for it to institute the speed changes. I have watched my equipment operate as I tested out different groups. The actuator begins to turn, then the pump comes alive and begins to churn, it takes several seconds for the pressure to come up. By that time, my valves have completed their intended traverse.

That's great Allen! Keep us posted on the install please!

Same here. Any time frame for the install? Sure would like to follow along and be able to ask questions.

I will update my thread on it soon. This is mostly a planning and logistics challenge as I want to successfully swap Aqualink to IntelliCenter in one day. Once Aqualink is removed there is no going back.

I have IntelliCenter box. Now need to get CBs and prewire as much as possible. Also have some cabinet mounting issues to figure out. Nothing is as easy as it looks.

Where's your thread?

I know exactly what you mean... I had to get the old Jandy box all off and wires recoverable as much as possible so I could at least get the pump and chlorinator running asap. Sort of an exercise in plan and measure twice, then cut once.

I also know what you mean. I'm selecting replacement equipment while recovering from my daily scooping of muck from the bottom of my swamp. Then have to figure out layout on the 4x5 pad that's enclosed on 3 sides. Except for adding automation and replacing a tab dispenser by an SWG, not really changing much on types of equipment. Didn't get to creating the shade that I had planned when we moved to this pad and the plumbing & wiring show it, so going to have to redo 95%. Current setup looks like a Rube Goldberg creation that would make the Head measuring gods ill, but it's functional.

Thanks so much for everyone's help. Very close now to making the Intellicenter my automation choice. Guess my next step is to evaluate if the 5PIC60 kit is going to be enough; with 3 actuators & a pool light, it's going to be tight. Don't see an 8PIC60, so it'd probably be ala carte. But I'll save this is for another thread... :)

If you call PolyTec Pools, I'm told that they will bundle the IntelliChlor with an i8 or i10 P or PS IntelliCenter models. They have done it in the past but not sure about now.
