I am trying to connect my slide from my inground pool to the existing plumbing. Right now I’m just using the garden hose, but if it gets left on the pool gets extremely full, I only that, but I am diluting the chemicals more and more. Where is the best place to plumb in a valve for the slide? And do I use a jandy valve for it?

I would Tee into that 1" PVC that is the suction line to the booster pump. Seems easier enough to remove the union connected to the pump and cut the pipe to allow you to put in a TEE. For the slide plumbing you may find it easier to use a ball valve as it currently being used as a cut off to the booster pump.

Sorry I am still learning about my pool. To clarify looking at the picture. I should add a T between the booster pump and ball valve?
Side note, I don't use my booster pump at all.

Do you have any plan to use the booster pump in the future?
If not, then unscrew the union in front of it and cut off the pipe connecting to the union. Then put in a Tee fitting. On the one leg of the Tee fitting put another valve followed by whatever fitting needed to connect to the slide.
On the second leg of the Tee put another valve. Cut the exit pipe coming from on top of the booster pump and connect that to the second leg of the Tee. Leave the union that is there as it helps join the 2 pieces of pipe together for easier fitting.
So the second leg of the Tee just becomes another return to the pool. That is better than plugging the line.

now there are 2 lines from that pipe - one to the slide controlled by a valve and the other leg is a return back to the pool.

Just leave the existing valve currently on that line - it just becomes a secondary method to close that line if needed.

Here is your photo with markup on it.
Cut at the 2 RED lines.
See top of photo for the new plumbing. BLACK are plumbing lines and the TEE. The BLUE valves are for isolation and control of those plumbing lines.
Keep the UNION on the line that goes back to the pool as it will make assembly easier.
