Installing 1.5" pump with 2" plumbing

Hi everyone, I am new here.
I have 38000 gallons inground pool, no spa or other water features.
My current 1.5 HP single speed pump started to make strange loud noises. The current pump and all pool (visible) piping is 2". I found a very good deal on 115V variable speed pumps 1.5" inlet/outlet. Can I expect flow problems if I put in a 1.5" pump with the existing 2" piping?

Not at all. Just use the right 1.5" to 2" adapter (if necessary) from the pump to the rest of your equipment plumbing. Some pumps have internal (1.5") and external (2") connection capacity.
