I inherited my pool with the house six seasons ago. I had a new liner installed, but otherwise have followed TFP guidance and have had very little trouble with it.
I've been noticing that my filter doesn't seem to filter correctly. It's a Hayward sand filter, and I recently noticed while vacuuming to filter that all of the crud on the bottom seemed to be blowing back through the jets.
Today I did a deep clean and I noticed that the sand has small pebbles in it (like 0.1" diameter), like it came from a local landscape supply. What should my sand look like? There was a lot of silt and dirt that washed out of it, so maybe that's the end of it.
