In the planning stages looking for advice (Austin, TX)

So you know you’re on the right track by coming here before you even have your pool built, this is what the TFP method can get you. I’ve been doing this this season alone, so minimal experience beforehand. That’s 3.5 feet of water in there.

Also, it’s really a nice shade of blue during daylight, flashlight photographed by phone seems to give a weird tint.

SWG for sure. Also agree on adding another light, preferably color changing LEDs, trust me you'll love them. Would change out the 2 speed pump for a variable speed pump. Automation if you can swing the extra cost. I really prefer mini-pebble/pebblesheen over regular pebble, definitely try to feel them in person if you haven't already. Don't see a suction side or booster pump in your signature, so hopefully your builder didn't include it as a robot cleaner is the way to go. Good luck and you're already way ahead of the curve by being on this forum so early asking for advice.

A suction side or booster pump was not included in the pool agreement. I'll have to figure out what those are

They are talking about cleaners, the "old school" way of cleaning your pool. You can get either suction side or pressure (booster pump) side cleaners. Many of us are switching over to robots to clean our pools, $400-$1000+. Much more on that in the pool cleaner sub forum.

So the PB got back to me and the warehouse is replacing the AquaPure with the TruClear. He was not sure of the specs, but I do remember you guys telling me that it needs to be double my pool size (at minimum 30,000 gallons). Would you guys recommend it, the Hayward aquarite or the hayward salt and swim?

Thanks!

See post #8. Jim recommended the Aquapure 1400.

The Jandy TruClear creates 0.93 lbs of chlorine in 24 hours. Or 15 oz. That can add 8.3 FC to your pool in 24 hours if run continuously. So it should work. You will most likely need to run it about 12 hours a day during the summer with normal bather load.

Take care.
