I will be closing our above ground pool in the next couple weeks. I am in NE WI.
I have a mesh cover and utilize the wire cable to secure the cover to the lip of the pool. The pool has about half the circumference flush with the pool deck so I have anchors on the deck that the wire runs through. The wire runs under the lip of the pool for the other half.
My problem is that I cant keep the cover "taught" enough to let the water, ice and melting snow run through the mesh and thus only leave more-or-less debris on the top of the cover to hopefully blow off in the spring. The result is a wet HEAVY mess in the spring where the debris inevitably ends up at the bottom of the pool and is a huge pain to clean out. This year it took me nearly two days. Does anyone have any pro tips on how I should be managing the tension of the pool cover as to aid the mesh cover in doing what it is supposed to do?
