Ideas for retractable (or removable) shade coverings for large area

Our pool gets full sun from ~11 am CST to ~5 pm CST during the swimming season and I wanted to ask what others have used for shade options. We have done the larger pool-side umbrella but would rather try something like a retractable awning or even a cover that we can remove manually as needed. This would be for a fairly large area, say at least 15' x 15'. I am not sure if retractable awnings can span that distance, so we might have to go the route of a covering that is anchored to the house on one side and to some set poles on the other. Any ideas you have are welcome!

ShamWoW, we have the motorized awning by SunSetter and no regrets here. We all can relax in the Spa without having to move the giant umbrella every now and then. Just don't use it at times when the wind is blowing hard as a preventative measure.
