Ice and skimmer

Hi all,
We live in Massachusetts and it's been brutal winter in terms of ice. When I closed our above ground 21' round pool in September, I lowered the water below the skimmer. Today, I noticed a small icicle coming from the hose coupler at the bottom of the skimmer. My guess is the ice in the pool has reached the very bottom of the skimmer and is now dripping out and has a thin layer across the bottom of the skimmer. The skimmer does not have a significant amount of water other than the thin layer. Any thoughts, experiences with this or general input is appreciated. Thank you.

Don't touch your pool until everything is thawed and then you can asses the damage.

Disturbing a pool while ice is in the water can cause sharp sides of the ice to damage the liner.
