IC60 vs CIC60S Pentair SWCG

My IC 40 is down to its last 20% of life so getting ready to purchase a new salt cell. I have come across the CIC60S (521005)which is listed as a secondary cell for commercial applications but looks like the regular IC60 (521105). I have Easytouch 4 with SWCG transformer built in, Would the CIC60s function like the IC60-- it is about $100 less.

It says the cell is designed to be used with an ORP system.. But in section 3, it says that it can be used as a standalone cell without ORP..

What that means is that I have no clue.. but it is doubtful that I would spend the money to find out.

Let's see if Brian knows... Calling @bdavis466 .. Have you ever installed a commercial IC60 set up??

The secondary cell communicates with the primary cell in the commercial setup.

So, I don't think that it will work without the primary cell.

Thank you, My system uses intellichm for ph/orp monitoring. Hope Bdavis 466 chimes in.
