I’m looking to replace my 2017 Pentair IC40, which has recently started having board issues and is likely overdue for a swap.

I had two quick questions:
  1. Are there any salt chlorinators you’d recommend around the $1,500 range instead of the new IC40?
  2. Where do you typically purchase them? Any store suggestions please, I’ve read that Pentair may not honor the warranty if it’s not bought through an authorized dealer like Leslie’s, is that true?
Pool is ~30,000 gallon vinyl pool with 1.5Hp pentair pump.

Thank you!

Appreciate any guidance!

If your Power Center is good you just need a replacement IC40 cell.

Replacement cells get a 2 year warranty.

The new IntelliChlor Plus cells get a 3 year or 10,000 hour, whichever comes first warranty.

Thanks, any suggestions please for stores or websites to buy the cell from? For some reason not many seem to carry the Ic40, and I can’t tell which year model it is for example. I’m in north Jersey too.

Call Margaret at Marina pools and spa in Denver.

The IC40 is the older model, the IC plus 40 is the new one. Either works so go with a deal first, or simply availability second.

Thanks! I will give Marina pools a call. I read somewhere in this forum negative things about the IC Plus so far, maybe worth trying if they give a decent deal/warranty on it.

There was one failure and it appears they were making it right. Time will tell about the rest of them.

Some will like the new functions.

Some want tried and true.

Most of us will have to settle for whats avaliable. Lol.
