Ever since spring, when the swg turned itself back on I’ve had to continue to increase the percentage output and add bleach occasionally. Raised the percentage from 80 to 85% before we left on vacation last week. Had someone check the chlorine with the R-0001 and 0002 every day and they added bleach daily because it was looking like 2 on the color scale. The reagents are new and in date and I have noticed they never seem to show correctly. Anyway, I knew I would be coming home to SLAM, but checked last night when we got in with the full dpd kit and chlorine was at 6 minus .5, so 5.5. This morning at 6 a.m. it was the same. At 11 a.m. it was at at 6 with no cc. This afternoon at 1:00 p.m., cell running at 85% it was at 4. At 4 p.m. it was still at 4, no cc. I went on and added a jug of bleach (81 oz) since the yard was mowed and some grass blew in. I haven’t checked Cl since I added bleach. So my question, is my problem solely that my cya is too low? Or could there be a problem with the ic40? The cya was 50 on June 10, after 10” of rain and I was still having to add bleach. We haven’t had much rain since but have had to add water. The TA was 70 on June 10, also, so adding water has increased my TA. Our fill is 140. I’m certainly hoping it’s not my swg because those are impossible to find now, seems like. I have put a cup of granular cya in a sock and it’s in the skimmer now. Also checked cell today and it looked good. Didn’t bubble with acid/water mixture. Cell is 3 years old.
Thank you for any advice you can give.
