My Intellichlor IC 40 appears to be dead after about 4 years. It has the cell light flashing and I ave cleaned the cell twice, which they didn't look bad, but still flashing, all other lights are good. It says 80% of life used when I check holding more down for 3 to 5 seconds, and running diagnostics. Salt level is a tad low at 2900 PPM so will add salt, but my question is has anyone had any experience with alternative cheaper cells like the splash IRCF 40, or best to stich with Pentair. They have gone up a lot in just 4 years, like everything else.
