IAquaLink … In Floor Setting …

I have a paramount PCC 2000 in floor pool cleaner on a separate VS pump, should the iaqualink in floor cleaner setting be enabled or disabled? I understand how the JVA valve cycles every 20 minutes but what valve cycles? There are Jandy controlled actuators and mechanical valves at the control box and a Paramount Valve 6 zone module housing that I thought does the same cycling mechanically.
Thanks

Welcome to TFP!

Post a few pictures of your equipment pad from a few different angles so we can see all your plumbing. Have the entire equipment pad in each picture. Be sure HDR is off on your phone so the pics aren't too large for forum upload.

If the IFCS is on its own separate pump, it should have its own plumbing system. The automation should just turn the pump on and off on the set schedule. Is the IFCS plumbing sharing plumbing with the pools main pump and circulation system?

Cool.
All the equipment - everything.
Need to see routing of all plumbing.

How many drains in the bottom of pool or on the walls?
Hi, hope these images help

Does the IFCS pump run during the time that the filter pump is on?
Are the wall drains plumbed to the IFCS or filter pump?
Are the floor drains plumbed to the IFCS or filter pump?
Guessing the Debris Collector is plumbed to the main drains on the floor.

Does the IFCS pump turn on automatically or manually?
If automarically, it's either thru the iAqualink or a separate timer.

The water distribution valve cycles thru each zone anytime the water distribution valve has water flowing thru it.

Which exact JVA cycles every 20 minutes?
You should see a valve actuator move and be able to identify what pipe it's on.

In the Close Up Shot - can you move further to the left and snap another pic?
Try to lighten up the pics of the equipmemt pad as it's a bit difficult to see where the black pipe runs in the shadows.

Interesting placement of the water valve in an irrigation box, don't recall seeing that before.
In the water valve box, is that a 2-way or 3-way Jandy valve?

Going to be fun for someone doing repairs on the water valve in that pit.

Definitely!
A lot of careful digging to get the plumbing exposed to do any repairs, not to mention the nasty bugs that could be hiding in there.

Does the IFCS pump run during the time that the filter pump is on?
Comment by TV: yes, has separate pump.
Are the wall drains plumbed to the IFCS or filter pump?
Comment by TV. The higher one is part of the PCC debris collection. All others connect to the pool filter
Are the floor drains plumbed to the IFCS or filter pump?
Comment by TVFlood drain is connected to pool filter pump
Guessing the Debris Collector is plumbed to the main drains on the floor.
Comment by TV: Debris collector is a Paramount PCC feature and yes it’s plumbed back to the pool filter
Does the IFCS pump turn on automatically
Comment by TV: Yes
If automarically, it's either thru the iAqualink or a separate timer.
Comment by TV: IAquaLink set up as Aux1 pump and circuit on the schedule.

Comment by TV: At the moment, all pop up zones open when the InFloor pump is on, the system isn’t currently cycling zone to zone… and I don’t know why.

Comment by TV: No JVA cycles every 20 minutes (that is what I wonder about how the iAquaLink InFloor settings “enabled/not enabled functions”

Comment by TV: See image

Comment by TV: Both manual Jandy valves are 3 ways. I bought the house with pool, and yes it’s a pain in the back to clean it out and keep the plants trimmed.

Here's a link I ran across with some FAQs on your system that may or may not be beneficial to you.
Click on the PCC2000 link to see the manual as well.

Since your IFCS pump runs within the pool pump runtimes, I'd just leave the automation as is for now.
No idea what the iAqualink infloor setting does.

It does sound like you may have an issue with the water valve though. It should rotate thru the zones. Do the heads ever retract with the IFCS pump on? Open up the water valve and see if there is a problem with the internals.

Does the pool have any returns on the walls (not popups)? The manual Jandy valve at the water valve may control return water to the water valve and those possibly wall returns

In post #1 you said
I understand how the JVA valve cycles every 20 minutes but what valve cycles?
Then in post #13 commemt #8

Not sure what you mean by this statements.
Why would an actuator cycle every 20 minutes?
There look to be 3 actuators....
1 on the pool/spa suction
1 on the pool spa return
1 on what I think is the solar valve

The water valve should rotate thru each zone anytime the IFCS pump is on and the water valve has sufficient pressure to run the system.
The PCC2000 is probably one of the most over complicated IFCS that I've seen.

Comment by TV: I read somewhere in the IAquaLink manual… or maybe the FAQ’s where it explains that the “enabled” InFloor setting cycles the actuator values every twenty minutes. So that’s the problem question: what valves cycle, not my pool/spa suction, not my pool/spa return, not the Solar Valve? So, you’re right, with an IFCS isolation on a separate pump, the InFloor setting doesn't apply. So I’ll ignore the IAquaLink setting, because enabled or disabled it does nothing to my pool or IFCS.

Comment by TV: Yes, you are correct.
The water valve should rotate thru each zone anytime the IFCS pump is on and the water valve has sufficient pressure to run the system.
Comment by TV: All popups are elevated and streaming water at strong flow. Yep, I will clean out that valve housing, I’ll bet the gears are sort of gummed up. I recently bought the house and I’ve never cleaned it, I’ll add it to my seasonal pool bring up tasks. BTW, pressure test at a pop up jet reads normal.

Comment by TV: Yes, There are a lot of mechanical components (not necessarily the smartest engineering design), but … I got to say, even with all my curvy pool design, the PCC2000 keeps my pool clean with little human touch.

... and Rattlesnakes ... and Alligator Lizards ... and Black Widows ... yikes ... I just need to take of that dome housing, the strap is tied down with a nut and I'll use a socket wrench ... the gophers push up dirt into the box so I'll need to stay on top of keeping it clean. Thanks
