I'm sorry to say, my opinion of any of the Intex "accessories" is less than stellar. The pumps seem weak, the filters barely do, so I'm not sure how well their SWCGs work. If there is any way for them to plumb in a standard SWCG and skip over the Intex I would look into that. Even if it seems "oversized", we always recommend buying a SWCG that is rated for at least double the pools actual volume.

I have the Intex 18ft pool with an upgraded Hayward filter/pump and the intex SWG. The SWG works well for me but here in S.E. Texas I have to run it 8 hrs/day with a CYA level of 75 to keep the algae at bay. I try to not let my chlorine get below 8ppm. The increased pump output is really what made the difference for my pool. I still from time to time have to slug dose the pool with bleach during increased people load or when it rains a lot. The only thing I dont like about the Intex SWG is that you cannot set the time. It's on an internal 24hr clock and you have to start it at the time you want it to run every day. Other than that, mine works fine.
