First, I'd like to say thank you to this entire community for all the amazing information. I have a 7700 gallon 18'x4' bestway pool, and thanks to all of you my water is sparkling and beautiful.
My question is about my daily maintenance dose of chlorine, and if the amount is normal. I have to add about 40 oz. of 10% liquid to maintain the 6ppm recommendation that I see in pool math.
Today's test is as follows. All tested with the Taylor K-2005, Borates tested with LaMotte Borate test strips.
Temperature = 82°F
FC = 2
TC = 2
PH = 7.6
TA = 70
CH = 250
CYA = 50
Borates = 40ish.. (The strips are hard to really see.)
I then made 2 adjustments.. I added 18 oz. of bicarb to bring the TA up to 80, and I added 40 oz of Chlorine to bring the FC up to 6.0
My pool is sparkling and beautiful, It just seems like 40 oz. per day is a lot of chlorine.. I just need a sanity check here. It's pretty much the only thing that I have to do daily, I just want to make sure that this is a normal daily dosage.
